Editorials Against Proposition 17, the 2010 Auto Insurance Surcharge Initiative

Proposition 33 is just the latest attempt in the long history of Mercury Insurance trying to change California law to their benefit.  In fact, in 2010, they sponsored Prop 17 - which was nearly identical to Prop 33 - and spent over $16 million to try to pass it.  Here's what California newspapers said about that deceptive proposition then.  As you'll see, almost every paper in California warned Californians against that deceptive insurer-sponsored initiative too.
